Men’s Clothes Men’s clothes includes : chokha : is a cottony or wooly garment which is called “kawa” in saghez , mariwan , baneh called “chokha” in sanandaj. pantol : “pantols” are loose trousers, which have right trouser legs, called “ranek”, as well. malaki : malaki is a garment without collar which is buttoned from up to down of the garment. lefka sorani : lefka sorani is a kind of loose and long sleeves with a triangular shape at the end , which is rolled up around wrist or arm. shal : shal , which is also called “peshtwen” and “peshtinah” , is a 3 to 10 meter-cloth which is worn up on the clothes in the waist area. dastar : dastar or “kalaghah”,also called “deshlama”,”mandali” “rashti” and “sarwen” , is used as a hat for men. faranji : faranji or faraji which is speciality of the men of oraman region is made of felt. kolah bal : is a kind of felt clothing worn in the desert by snepherds , during browse of herd.

Women’s Clothes jafi : jafi is a pair of trousers like men’s , worn by kurdish women specially villagers , as working. At other times , women wear loose trousers made of silk. kolanja : a garment worn upon a tall dress. In oraman it is called “sokhmah” . Kolanja is made of velvet or brocaded silk cloth. shal : beautiful cloth worn upon dress in the waist area. klaw : klaw or kolah , made of carboard,has a short cylinder shape which is decorated with colorful spangles in a beautiful manner. kalakah : it is a scarf or “dastar” used instead of hat by women . “kalakah” has a long strain of black and white silk with filigree. |
